What the Cardiff Half Marathon team has achieved since 2005

Just wanted to share some of the things that have been achieved and provided by the JAM Fund team in the Cardiff half marathon over the years (since 2005) I also wanted to thank the HUNDREDS of runners who have participated and all their supporters and sponsors for donating. There have been teams of various sizes and I've had runners from not just the UK, but also, Australia, South Africa ,Italy, Greece, Ireland, Malaysia, Iraq and Canada. I even had a group of nutters from Pembrokeshire dress as the JAM(aican) bobsleigh team and carry a home made bobsleigh around the course! I can't put an exact figure on what's been raised by the team(s) but it's definitely the largest source of revenue the charity has. I originally set up the charity to raise £5,000 as a thank you to the children's cancer unit in Cardiff for their care of Jamie and for giving myself and my family, two years that we probably wouldn't have had with him. With the help of the team members and their supporters, I hope to continue to raise funds for the children who face such a tough battle at a very young age, their families who have to go through it with them and the carers, NHS staff and organisations who offer them support. As a collective, these are amazing people and they put life into perspective every day. A brief summary of what the Cardiff half marathon teams have achieved is:-

Static caravan holiday home and free holidays offered to hundreds of families over a 7 year period (approx £60k)
Provision of a wheel chair adapted minibus donated to Martin House Children's hospice in Wetherby, Yorkshire (approx £26k) (that was raised entirely by the 2007 team)
Leeds General Infirmary, Cardiff UHW, Llandough, Royal Berkshire, Worcester, East Kent, Kettering and Royal Glamorgan Hospitals, medical equipment for children's wards S.C.B.U. and I.C.U. (approx £120k) six children and their families supported in treatment overseas, children in UK communities and special schools given gifts, holidays and equipment (approx £200k) All of which has been as a result of the teams over the years.
Thank you, all of you.
