Meeting Jack's brothers and sister

Meeting Jack's brothers and sister

We are constantly bombarded with bad news in the media and we all have our worries and concerns, but today (once again) these were put into
perspective for me. I was also reminded about what a fantastic country we are lucky enough to live in and the amazing people in our communities

Today it was my pleasure to meet Oscar, Charlie and Eliana, older siblings of little Jack. Jack has already received a specialist p pod chair costing £2350 from the JAM Fund, with funds raised by the Cardiff Half Marathon team, Mount Pleasant Playgroup in Barry and a recent donation from the Druids (metal detecting) group.

The three children have been an amazing support to Mum Amanda and Dad Nick ( who has also suffered from a serious health condition) and so the JAM Fund was honoured to present them with early Christmas presents in the form of three new bicycles ( and helmets) which were presented by Jamie's brother Sam and fellow JAM team member Sam Preece.

In addition, the Tadross Hotel and local Fire Service also made cash donations to support the family of over £2500. This is the community and society we live in A local builder has also stated he will fit a new bathroom for the family as Dad was in the process of working in the home when he himself became unwell.

In addition to this, a very brave young man in Aberystwyth who is fighting cancer for a second time, and his family, received a £1000 donation which enabled him to.purchase a portable monitor to use at his hospital visits and his brother to get an i-pad and hopefully a little night away for Mum and Dad.

Bringing to completion the JAM Christmas donations, a family in Cornwall will also be receiving a further £1000 donation which will hopefully be put towards the considerable cost of adapting the family home, to allow their little boy home as he has spent his first year since birth in hospital in Plymouth
