How the 2023 Cardiff Half Marathon funds were spent

The Jamfund Cardiff half marathon team raised in excess of £8,000 in October. This money has now been allocated. £6,000 has been donated towards the purchase and installation of an accessible play park for children with disabilities in Victoria Park, Plymouth. This is the aim and drive of Jensen, and his mum Stacey Drake, who have collectively raised over £10,000 already and secured a further £10,000 from Plymouth Council. The family are liaising with the council to achieve the goal and items have been purchased and plans submitted. Jensen deserves a huge pat on the back as his dream will assist other children like him. The Charity team have now played a significant role in assisting with this project.
Along with this, a further £1,000 is being donated to 20 children undergoing chemotherapy at UHW in the form of £50 gift cards, including some children who will be in hospital over the Christmas period...as Jamie was. Another £500 will be donated to the staff on the ward towards items for their staffroom. They do an amazing job and often go above and beyond in their support of the children and their families so this is a little thank you in recognition from the JAM Fund. Thanks to the team and supporters for making this happen.
