Helping Tom Palmer's family in Aberystwyth

Thank you to:-
Mount Pleasant Playgroup ,
The Druids (metal) Detecting group,
JAM Fund 2025 Cardiff half marathon team.
Who's fundraising has made the following possible:-

Today I spoke with Tom Palmer.

Tom lives in Aberystwyth with his wife Rose and his two sons, Rufus (11) and Noah (8)

I met Rufus back in 2019.
The JAM Fund hosted a Christmas party for 20 children fighting cancer.
Rufus had to cancel as he was too ill to attend
Denise and I travelled into University Hospital Wales to give Rufus his gifts.
Rufus had undergone a bone marrow transplant and shortly after 'rang the bell' signalling an end in his treatment.
Sadly, Rufus and his family have earlier this year,
Discovered his cancer has returned and a further transplant is not possible so he has to go to Great Ormond Street for further treatment.
On the way home from there recently, the car broke down near Luton on the M1 after they had spent all day in London. This then made a long and uncomfortable day even longer, and resulted in a taxi to Aberystwyth .
The JAM Fund has donated £1000 today, to Rufus and his family.
This is for Christmas gifts and so that Mum and Dad can have one night of respite together.
Some families seem to be continually challenged and it doesn't seem fair.
Rufus will be getting some of his favourite Lego toys and his Dad will send some pictures at a later date.
Here are some past and present of Rufus and Tom ( with permission) wishing them all a peaceful Christmas and happier times.
Thank you to all involved in making another small difference to another deserving child and family
