Getting British-made PPE to the front line

So yesterday I got up and watched breakfast TV. A gentleman who ran a printing company was stating his company had realigned to produce face visors but that the government, whilst stating that a billion items of ppe have been distributed, were bemoaning a late delivery from Turkey. This gentleman was frustrated because he had been trying for over three weeks to get these British made and accredited visors into the NHS but red tape had blocked him at every turn. So, I spent 8 hrs yesterday liaising with this company (in Sunderland and the Midlands) and having tried several official channels within the local NHS and receiving the same, frustrating red tape blocking, I then contacted some nursing staff I know at UHW directly. By Saturday, I am hoping to receive delivery of 285 pvc tabards with a personalised message of support to frontline workers and 350 adjustable and British standard accredited face visors. These will be distributed to local care homes and UHW. It is by no means a vast amount (total cost £2400) and will only make a small difference but that is the nature of Jamie's charity. Also, paediatric A&E at Kettering General Hospital will be receiving £500 of equipment courtesy of Jason Perkis' efforts as part of the JAMFund Cardiff Half Marathon team.(Concluding donations) pics to follow sorry for the length of the post and if you are in the Barry area and know a care worker lacking PPE please get in touch by e-mail (jamfund@sky.com)
