Dave and Derek complete their 800-mile cycle ride
So tonight I was contacted by Dave, Derek and Sue Humphries. The lads had arrived at Folkestone in Kent, their home town. They have completed an epic cycle ride from John O Groats in Scotland, a distance in excess of 800 miles. Completing a final stage of 136 miles today and arriving back home a day earlier than planned in typical humble style with no real recognition. In the process, they were
accompanied by Sue in the support vehicle, a vital part of the challenge and collectively, they have raised in excess of £3500 for the JAM Fund charity. THANK YOU BOYS, THANK YOU SUE and THANK YOU to each and every sponsor and supporter. The hard part is now over for "Baby Dave" as we knew him on HMS Cornwall and I guess we can now add "Baby Del" to our ranks, a squaddie who is now an honourary sailor! The good part (where the funds are used to help poorly children) is soon to follow ...due entirely to these three amazing people and those who have supported them....go enjoy a beer or three guys and thank you so much!
