A visit to Noah's Ark children's cancer unit
Early start this morning to drive into the University Hospital of Wales. Rocket and Rainbow wards constitute the children's cancer unit at Noah's Ark children's hospital. The staff on these wards often go above and beyond in their care and support of the children and their families, something I appreciate from personal experience. At their request, the JAM Fund was happy to deliver a little thank you to the staff as an early Christmas present. Kettles, a toaster, air fryer, cafetiere, tea, coffee , biscuits, choccies and a storage unit were all supplied to the wards. In addition, the charity delivered £1000 of gifts to some of the children in the form of 20 x £50 gift vouchers which were left with LATCH to distribute to the children in hospital over the Christmas period (a gift from Jamie) Pics: The gifts, Denise delivering them to Karen of Rainbow ward and Vicki of Rocket ward , (both of whom cared for Jamie over 20 years ago) Also, Natalie from LATCH taking receipt of the gift vouchers. Along with the £6000 donation to the play park in Plymouth, this concludes the donations from this year's Cardiff half marathon team, totalling £7600.
