Jam-Fund in the Glamorgan Gem
Recent coverage in the Glamorgan Gem newspaper detailed donations to the following children:-
Sebastian from Barry received a £2000 donation towards an “Eye Gaze” machine which will cost £8500! The new and very clever machine captures Sebastian’s eye movements and translates these to letters and phonics on a screen which will allow Sebastian to communicate with Mum and Dad Ina much easier way.
Lacey-Mae from Barry who has also recently bravely fought cancer received a cheque for £1000 towards Christmas gifts for her and her brothers too!
Ollie Meredith from Barry received a new p pod chair and the JAM Fund was pleased to donate £750 ( half of the cost) towards this.
Also receiving funding of £500 was the Rhoose parentbpupil volunteer group, a charity that was established by Cath Watkins and Maria Thompson. The group has received past funding which enabled them to grow their support from initially just five children to now over two hundred. The ladies and the group offer academic support to children of a wide range of abilities in a non pressured environment and now also offer courses for adults too. It is an honour to remain associated with the group.
